Attendance and Tuition Policies

The following policy applies to all private lessons, without exception

Tuition and Payment Schedule

  • Tuition is only offered on a monthly basis.
  • Tuition is due on the first lesson of every month. Enrollment may be suspended for any account not paid in full by the 15th day of each month.
  • Tuition rates are posted in the Conservatory. This fee is set by the Board of directors on an annual basis and is based upon four (4) lessons per month.
  • Tuition will be prorated only for those students who begin studies in the middle of a monthly cycle. The prorated schedule is posted in the lobby.
  • Tuition must be made in separate installments to the teacher and the Conservatory via cash or check.

Registration

  • Continuing registration fees are due annually at the start of each academic year (September). Initial registration fees are due within 30 days of enrollment.
  • Annual registration fees must be received by the deadline in order to maintain enrollment.
  • Individual and family rates are posted in the Conservatory each year. This fee is prorated only for those families who are new to the conservatory and who have already paid a registration fee within sixty (60) days of the annual enrollment period.

Attendance

  • Regular attendance at weekly lessons is expected of all students.
  • Enrollment may be suspended for those students who are unable to commit to regular attendance.

Cancellations

  • In the event of a student absence, students are expected to contact their private teacher directly at least twenty-four (24) hours before their appointment
  • In the case of a teacher absence, teachers are expected to contact their students within twenty-four (24) hours prior to their appointment and arrange for a make-up lesson or prorate the account for the missed lesson.
  • In the case of inclement weather, teachers will notify students if they intend to cancel lessons. The conservatory does not automatically close if local school districts are delayed/closed. Students are encouraged to confirm their appointment during periods when winter weather can potentially make travel hazardous.

Make-up Lessons

  • Students are entitled to one make-up lesson each semester (fall, spring, and summer), provided they notify their teacher in advance of their absence.
  • Students who experience severe illness or an extenuating family emergency should contact the Conservatory to make alternative arrangements.
  • Faculty will make-up all lessons for which they are absent or offer a prorated tuition plan for the equivalent numbers of lessons that they miss.

Refunds

  • All monthly tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. Payment of tuition constitutes acceptance of this policy.
